About us
Dharam J began his journey in 2005, leaving his home in central India in search of a deeper understanding of life and the yogic path.
For many years, he travelled across India, living and studying with different teachers, spending time in ashrams, forests, and in silence.
He received his formal education at a traditional Gurukul in Haridwar—an ancient residential system where students (śiṣya) live with the teacher (guru), learning not only through study, but through daily life, discipline, and service.
His practice deepened through long periods of sādhana in Tapovan, Rishikesh, and further study in Pune, where he was guided in Hatha Yoga and the Iyengar method under experienced teachers.
Over time, yoga became not only a practice, but a way of living.
With the blessing of his teacher, he began to share this knowledge through teaching.
Dharam J is also trained in Yoga Therapy, offering a traditional approach to support the body in healing and restoring balance.
Drawn by the natural stillness and spiritual atmosphere of the Himalayas, he settled in Dharamshala, where he opened Bodhi Yoga Ashram in March 2025.
His teaching remains simple, sincere, and rooted in tradition—
offered with the intention to support each person in discovering their own inner clarity and light.
His philosophy is discover the light within and he is a follower of BKS Iyengar.

"Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim.
The better your practice, the brighter the flame" - BKS IYENGAR
Yoga styles
You are welcome to come as you are.
These daily classes are open to all sincere practitioners—whether you are beginning or continuing your path.
Iyengar Yoga
A methodical and disciplined approach rooted in alignment (śarīra samatā) and precision.
Postures are held for longer duration to develop sensitivity, strength, and correct structural awareness.
The use of props—such as ropes, chairs, belts, bolsters, and blocks—supports the practitioner in experiencing the āsana with integrity and safety.
This practice refines attention and cultivates dhyāna (meditative awareness) through the body.

Yoga Therapy
A therapeutic application of yoga for restoring balance in the system.
Practices are adapted according to the individual’s condition, addressing imbalances in doṣa, posture, breath, and nervous system.
Through specific āsana, prāṇāyāma, and relaxation techniques, the body is guided toward natural healing.
The intention is not performance, but saṃtulana (restoration of equilibrium) and long-term well-being.Write your text here...
“Ha” (sun) and “Tha” (moon) — the union of opposing energies.
Hatha Yoga is the classical path of balancing prāṇa (vital energy) through āsana, prāṇāyāma, and inner awareness.
The practice is steady and intentional, cultivating sthira (stability) and sukha (ease) in each posture.
Through breath and stillness, the fluctuations of the mind (citta vṛtti) begin to settle, allowing harmony between body, mind, and subtle energy.
